Students take on World’s Greatest Shave

Six of Aviation Australia’s aircraft maintenance engineering students will be taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave, in efforts to help beat blood cancer.

The students have created a team, naming themselves the John Howard’s. All team members have expressed their dedication to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation, recognising it as an act of support for the many Aussie families facing the emotional and physical drain of cancer.

Aviation Australia will host a shave auction, providing students and staff the opportunity to bid on the rights to shave a student’s hair. All money raised will be donated to the foundation.

“One of our team members has agreed to shave his beard as well as his head if he raises $500 himself. We’re really hoping we can see this happen!” said Connor Watt, team captain of the John Howard’s.

The shave will take place on Thursday, 22 March in the Technical Training Centre at Aviation Australia, during the student morning tea break (9.30am).
