Skills Recognition | Remote Pilot

The Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot – Visual Line of Sight) provides you with important training to legally operate a remotely piloted aircraft. It will also allow you to fly without many of the weight or operating restrictions applied to recreational users.

Aviation Australia offers an opportunity to have recognition of prior learning (RPL) of previous studies, qualifications and experience assessed for certification against this course. To qualify for skills recognition, you must hold the below minimum requirement:

  • Current CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) with a minimum of 5+ hours of logged flight.

Upon successful completion of the requirements of this course, you will receive:

  • Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot – Visual Line of Sight);
  • CASA Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate (AROC)* This is a CASA requirement to use aviation VHF radios, which are needed when flying near aerodromes and helipads.
