Cabin Crew student success stories
Our Cabin Crew Career Training students move on to lead successful careers in the sky. Here are just a few of our student success stories.
Kathryn White
My name is Kathryn White and I am an Aviation Australia 2016 graduate. I am currently employed as a Cabin Crew Team Member with Emirates, for almost two years now.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Aviation Australia, it was one of the best educational experiences I have ever had. It prepared me for the process for applying for cabin crew positions and mostly it prepared me for the extensive, high level training with Emirates.
Serina Li
I recently completed the Cabin Crew Preparation course and just secured a job with Virgin, based in Auckland.
The interview skills I learnt whilst undertaking the course really helped me when applying for the job. I felt much more confident and everything was familiar to me because of the course.
Before studying at Aviation Australia I worked at the Duty Free shop at Brisbane Airport and interacted with the cabin crew which inspired me to pursue a career in the field. I also wanted to show my son that if you have a dream you can achieve it.
The instructor Cindy was really encouraging and noticed my improvements throughout the course. Looking at my roster I feel so grateful for everyone’s help!
Claudia Hayes
Best thing I ever did, now have 2 airlines to choose from! Doing the course with Aviation Australia gives you an huge leg up in the industry and really opened my eyes to the lifestyle of cabin crew.
I had the best training with Paul and Bill in Sydney, they really know there stuff. If you put your mind to it you really can make anything possible. Dreams can take flight!
Lindsay Streeter
Aviation Australia played a huge role with me getting to where I am today. Without the experienced team at Aviation Australia I would’ve faced great difficulty in passing ground school with Virgin Australia, seeing that I had moved states and was currently looking for a place to live whilst going through ground school.
There was much stress involved but thanks to Cindy and the amazing team at Aviation Australia teaching me everything they know and have experienced first hand, I managed to fly by with ease compared to others that hadn’t undertaken an aviation course prior to ground school.
Thanks to Aviation Australia I’ve become the flight attendant I’ve always dreamt of becoming, and within the company I’ve always imagined myself working with.
Stephanie Philip
After I decided University wasn’t for me, I thought I love customer service and travelling so I put the two together. I still wasn’t 100% sure that being a flight attendant was for me, so I did some research and found the Cabin Crew Preparation course. I honestly loved it and knew this is what I wanted to do.
After graduating I went to an Emirates open day in Sydney, passed all the rounds, had my final interview and got the call that I would be moving to Dubai in a few weeks time.
Assessment days can be quite daunting, and this course helps you overcome the fear of standing up and presenting yourself. If it wasn’t for this course I don’t think I would have passed an assessment day.
All of the instructors have previously worked for airlines and give you the best insight to Aviation. You also meet current flight attendants who are doing their ground school training/yearly exams and they can also give you advice and tell you about the industry.
Shania Thorne
Aviation Australia really did help me, from the resume writing to the mock assessment days to the actual hands on and visual learning about the aviation industry. Learning about what it was like and what it takes to be a flight attendant made me want to chase this dream career.
Without the help of Aviation Australia and the skills they taught me, I would not have gotten as far as I have today. The feeling of walking into an interview day with confidence, excitement and no fear is all thanks to Aviation Australia. Getting through that interview day and being told congratulations was the best feeling I have ever experienced in my life.
It’s been a year with Cobham/Qantas and I’m loving it. Thanks Aviation Australia for helping me reach my dreams.
Jennifer Tran
I’ve very grateful to have completed the cabin crew preparation course because otherwise, I wouldn’t have gained the confidence I had during my interviews.
During the interview, I knew what to expect and felt like I was one step ahead of everyone who didn’t take the course.
There were many applicants that applied but thankfully they put me through the next stage and I start ground school for Jetstar shortly. Thank you to Bill (Sydney Instructor) and Aviation Australia.
Liam Rudevics

I’m very glad to be able to share with you that I’m going be cabin crew for Emirates! 🎉 I’m moving to Dubai in 2 weeks.
Eseta Ropati

I am happy to announce, I am currently working for Qantas and I am so happy that my dream has become a reality thanks to Aviation Australia. I get to wake up every morning doing what I love – flying, travelling and meeting new people and learning new things everyday.
India Berger
Aviation has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I started my journey to become a flight attendant with Aviation Australia. It was a great experience and I still have plenty of knowledge to this day. I am now employed at Airnorth and wouldn’t have made it through the ground school if it wasn’t for Aviation Australia. Now my office is in the sky!
Olivia Hamilton
I decided to do the AA Flight Attending course after I had completed a year and a half at Uni and decided it wasn’t for me.
What I loved most about the course is how realistic and hands on it was. There was a good balance of theoretical and practical work which helped to keep you interested. The fact that it was so similar to an airline ground school meant that when I started my ground school, I was already ahead of the pack because I had had practice in things such as evacuations and on board equipment.
The Aviation Australia course made me airline ready. I know that it equipped me with the knowledge and skills to be able to confidently take on the challenges of a ground school. It also helped me develop my current grooming and interpersonal skills. I know that without the knowledge and support of the instructors and the course, I wouldn’t habe been able to secure this role so easily.
I attended a recruitment day in the last week of my course and the day before I graduated Aviation Australia, I received the news that I secured a position in the Alliance Airlines ground school the following month.
Luckily for me Alliance Airlines is a charter company which means that everyday I go to work I am doing something different! We are currently contracted to do all of Virgin Australia’s regional work from Brisbane as well as a couple of their main line routes. We also operate on behalf of QantasLink to Mt Isa; every now and then we also operate on behalf of Tigerair. We do a lot of mining flights as well as seasonal charter work with TAUCK. There is also the chance to be on a different charter every couple of weeks.
No one day is the same and you have the chance to work with like minded people. You also get the chance to meet and mingle with so many different passengers who are all travelling for different reasons. I have recently been promoted to Cabin Manager after being with Alliance Airlines for 12 months.
Kasper Park
I graduated the part-time Flight attendant course as an international student in June 2018.
I decided to apply for the course after attending an information session, even though I was not confident about my English as a second language. At the beginning of the course, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to understand the instructors and socialise with my classmates.
The first concern disappeared after a few days due to the great support and extra care from the instructors. The second issue was resolved as soon as I saw myself dancing with my classmates during breaks within two weeks.
The facility at Aviation Australia is CASA approved, which the veteran flight attendants and other aviation industry workers from airlines are using for their training. I was thrilled to use this great facility for our drill trainings too. The course was so well structured, especially for international students like me, that I now have the ability to write my resume in English and know what to expect from job interviews.
If you aspire to be a flight attendant and don’t know where to start, I highly recommend Aviation Australia. Thank you for the memorable times, and lets fly high.
Phillip Oliver
I would just like to send a big thank you to Aviation Australia and in particular to my instructor Bill McGahey for such a fantastic course. Bill’s extensive knowledge and passion for the aviation industry was inspiring.
I had for many years wanted a career as a Flight Attendant, but never pursued it vigorously as other career opportunities presented themselves. Around 12 months ago I decided now was the time to give an aviation career a go to fulfil a lifelong dream and give me a long-term career. A friend who has studied at Aviation Australia recommended the 5-week full time Flight Attendant course in Sydney which I graduated in May 2018.
Aviation Australia has no doubt prepared me with the knowledge, both theory and practical components of being a flight attendant. I gained more confidence in public speaking and made some wonderful new friends along the way. I can honestly say I will never forget my experience at Aviation Australia. I think it was the best course and environment to learn in that I have ever had and I thank you so much.
I am very happy to say I have now secured a cabin crew position and start ground school shortly. I have no doubt Aviation Australia helped me achieve my dream.
Jose Deves
From undertaking the 5 week course with Aviation Australia, I gained further love and interest of the industry. The best part of this career training as an FA is that it gives you a chance to see and have a feel of the work style and lifestyle of a FA and the industry itself. Being employed now by a Regional Airline here in Australia, I never stop going back and recalling my learning’s and my humble beginnings with AA.
The instructor during my career training was very approachable and very informative, always providing clarification and guidance; and they keep in touch even after the course has finished. The modules that the course covers helps not only with grooming, but with employment preparations and guidelines when it comes to ground school; and trust me it helps and give you your own advantage. The five weeks is challenging and require a lot of getting use to, but if you put passion and dedication you will go beyond your own expectation at the end of it; just have trust and keep a smile in your face.
The bonus of doing this course is that it is well recognised around Australia, it’s good for your CV and you gain wide networks who will guide you, as you go further in the industry. AA keeps in contact with you when it comes to job openings even after you finish the course. That is the reason why I am employed and starting my career as a FA. There is no regret at all being part of this course and opening a big chapter in my life. Aviation Australia will always be in my heart and mind and I very much recommend it to anyone seeking interest and stepping into the industry for the first time.
Christian Ward
Aviation Australia help so much with the theory side of things, going into ground school with Alliance Airlines I was so much more comfortable and relaxed because I knew that I could do it. Aviation Australia prepared me for what the career has in store for me and am so grateful. It was so much fun, without studying at Aviation Australia I would not have had to chance to secure a Cabin Crew job with Alliance Airlines based in Brisbane.
Usenia Samunaka
My dad signed me up for the flight attendant course. I wanted to be a pharmacist, but in a last minute change I told him I wanted to be cabin crew, so he signed me up for Aviation Australia. I came here last year in June/July. I’m so lucky to have studied at Aviation Australia. It helped me secure a position with Fiji Airways, which is so exciting. The course really helped me a lot and prepared me for my job with Fiji Airways. It has made training much more easier – I got to open the doors and use the rafts and do the wet drills. My new colleagues didn’t go through Aviation Australia, so it’s a lot harder for them because they have to learn a lot of new things. I try to help them as much as possible.
Kelly Clayson
I graduated from Aviation Australia in July 2017 and exactly three months later, I was graduating from ground school as a flight attendant. Without a doubt Aviation Australia changed my life. Not only did it prepare me for the industry and the journey I was about to embark on, but it also changed my confidence in other aspects of my life too. I know for a fact that without Aviation Australia, I wouldn’t be this strong, confident and independent woman I am today, living my dream.
The support network at Aviation Australia is incredible, I can’t thank my trainers enough for all the hard work they put in to training and helping us along the way to ensure we were equipped with the right skills and knowledge to succeed in the industry.
Doing the course definitely made ground school that little bit easier, as I went in with an understanding of the role and of what was expected of me as a flight attendant. I would recommend this course to anyone that wants to be a flight attendant. It changed my life and it can change yours too.
Courtney Gardiner
Not long after graduating from Aviation Australia I was offered a position working as Aerocare Ground Staff, who are contracted to both Tigerair and Alliance airlines to conduct check in’s and tarmac marshelling, as well as other airside and landside duties. I believe that the assistance provided by Aviation Australia into making my resume compatible with the industry standard helped me gain this employment.
The most enjoyable thing about studying at Aviation Australia was the encouragement we all received from the trainers. Their knowledge and experience in the industry was inspirational. I made a lot of friends who I still keep in contact with. All in all it was an amazing experience and it was worth the early wakeup everyday for 7 weeks!
Taleah James
I graduated from Aviation Australia in November 2017 and just one month after graduating I was lucky enough to be offered positions with two regional airlines, in Perth. I have since packed up my life, moved across the country and begun my dream career as a flight attendant!
After attending ground school for the airlines, I realised how much knowledge and experience I gained at Aviation Australia that made my training much easier. I honestly could not recommend the flight attendant career training course enough. The team at Aviation Australia are fantastic, the instructors made the learning experience enjoyable, interactive, informative and highly entertaining. Learning from people who know the ins and outs of being a flight attendant provided us with an exclusive insight of the industry. We learnt plenty of tips and tricks that we plan to use in the next exciting chapter of our lives.
Not only this, but I had an incredible group of classmates and thanks to Aviation Australia, I have made life long friends from my course.
If you are dreaming of a career as a flight attendant but don’t know where to start, Aviation Australia will give you the confidence, knowledge and skills that will set you apart from the crowd. Thank you Aviation Australia for helping me achieve my dreams!
Brianna Macpherson

My time at Aviation Australia was one I’ll never forget. Learning all the behind the scenes and daily life of cabin crew was an amazing experience. Experiences like learning what to do in a decompression situation or what to do in an evacuation was an experience never to forget. Many thanks goes out to the instructors for sharing there experience as cabin crew.
Hannah Spitzke
First of all, I would like to thank everyone at Aviation Australia for their help and support before and throughout the course. Aviation Australia has taught me so much about myself and Aviation.
I always thought that being Cabin Crew is nothing too hard, serving food and drinks, easy! It wasn’t what I had expected at all it was much more. I learned so much, from arming and disarming a door, opening and closing exits and evacuation an aircraft in case of an emergency and that’s just the start. I also learnt so much about myself, it really helped me grow as a person and helped me be so much more confident. Before this course I always question if I was good enough and now I feel like I can achieve anything if I set my mind to it.
Aviation Australia also helped me meet new people, not just people… friends for life. Over the last 5 weeks we helped one another every step of the way and I wouldn’t trade those girls for anything in this world. There was not one moment where we weren’t making each other laugh to the point that we were crying. I do recommend this course to anyone that is interested and has a passion in Aviation, it has been a great 5 weeks and I am sad it is almost over our instructor Chas made the experience fun and we always had a laugh. Thank you so much again for everything.
Emily Scibilia
My name is Emily on the 18th of September I started a Flight Attendant Course with Aviation Australia. This five week course not only built my knowledge for the industry but also my personal confidence. I was lucky enough to be apart of a small group of six wonderful girls. Throughout the course we have all assisted and pushed each other to make the most out of everything. I have had the opportunity to work and learn with proper Aviation equipment and the mix of practical and theory work made us stay on our toes. I am sad now the course has and I don’t want this experience to end. However, I now know with the confidence I have gained this it the path I want to follow and the career I want undertake.
Merridee Cross
As I reflect over the past five weeks I am astounded by the knowledge, skills and experiences that I have gained and the friendships I have formed at Aviation Australia. Although at times exhausted from late night cramming, every morning I was excited for the day ahead and the anticipation of the skills I would gain. The friendly and caring staff have had years of industry experience as Cabin Managers and were able to nurture and support us and provide every opportunity for success in a non threatening environment.
There would be few educational institutions that provide both theoretical and practical experiences on current aircraft as well as the skills to set you apart in an interview so that you can actually gain employment. Most TAFE and University qualifications take years to complete and are very costly and quite impersonal. For some students at Aviation Australia, the reality of becoming Cabin Crew has been achieved even before completing their course. I have left with a new level of confidence and self esteem and enjoyed building my own future successes in all aspects of life and has given me the confidence to become the person I aspired to be.
Caitlin Cooney
What did you most like about the course?
My trainers were amazing but I really enjoyed the fact that I was able to meet so many new and diverse people! Actually I just loved every part of the course. The excitement of having new things thrown at you each day gave us the chance to learn so much new information. The practical training in addition to the theory made learning a lot easier and fun. It made me so confident to be able to take everything I learned at Aviation Australia and be able to use it out in the wild world. The course was one of the best experiences I have done in my life and would recommend it to anyone.
Where are you working now?
I currently work at Brisbane Domestic Airport for a company called Aerocare and am ground staff for a few different airlines. My job consists of check in, baggage, marshaling planes and dealing with customers in a variety of situations. It’s a really cool job.
The Aviation Australia course absolutely helped me get the job. My knowledge and experience gained through the training gave me an understanding of cabin crew roles. When I’m marshaling planes, I understand the procedures and policies. I most definitely think that this course pushed me through and gave me an advantage over others to get the job.

At first I thought the hangar tour was not so interesting, but I understand that if I want to be a flight attendant it is good to know how an aircraft flies. Also the grooming rules are strict. But if I want to be a flight attendant I must follow the rules. Finally, I can say that the course is good. If I have the opportunity I would do it again. Thank you for everything.’

What did you most like studying at Aviation Australia?
To begin with, I am so great-full for my classmates and teachers for being so friendly and accepting who I am. Because I couldn’t speak English very well, everyone was in the class helped me, and listened to me. So this is why I was able to graduate.
At the beginning of the course I was thinking of quitting so many times because of the over load of work and it was really difficult to understand for me. I seriously had no confidence in myself and I felt like everyone was ahead of me, so I got advice from Cindy, Chas and Sandra and this has helped me through and made me confident and stronger. I am proud of myself for making it this far and being able to graduate with the rest of my class.
What are your plans for the future?
I am going back to Japan next week, and now have the strength in myself and I will definitely become a Flight Attendant.
Although I was a girl who was from a different country and different language, I feel like I made some good friendships because we all had the same dream and goal for the future.
Lauren Hanson
Prior to undertaking my Flight Attendant course at Aviation Australia I was studying a Nursing Diploma, before I realised my career goals lay in aviation.
I was so pleased when I was accepted into Aviation Australia’s Flight Attendant Career Training course. It has provided me with the confidence and knowledge that is required for a career as a cabin crew team member.
The course and the team have helped me in so many ways; with everything from phone calls to see how I’m going, to emailing through job opportunities. With their guidance and support I have managed to attend interviews and I have since been placed in ground school where I will become a domestic crew member.
My favourite part of the course was learning about the many different aspects of aviation, as well as training in the fantastic Qantas training centre in Melbourne. Of course, the amazing instructors and lovely, caring students I studied with made the course extra special.
I would like to thank all of the staff and wonderful teachers I had the opportunity to meet throughout my course. Without Aviation Australia’s help and support, I would not have been able to achieve my dream career as a cabin crew team member. For future students, I recommend you take the leap of faith, this was a dream that I never thought was possible and Aviation Australia made it happen.
Katherine Webb
Prior to attending Aviation Australia, I had applied for flight attendant roles and was unsuccessful for over four years at the recruitment days. Hesitant at first; I found the Flight Attendant Career Training course in Sydney and applied for the course.
The team at Aviation Australia have a vested interest in your career and will give you all the tools and skills in which you need to understand this unique job and fully equip you for the interviews.
Upon graduating from the course in May 2015 I received a call from an airline advising that I was successful for the position as a flight attendant! I have been working with the company for one year now and am still stunned that my dreams have finally come true.
The Aviation Australia team continue to support not only their current students but also the ones who have graduated. This course was definitely an investment for my lifelong career in aviation and I am grateful to all those who have helped me on this journey.
Adam F
Aviation Australia (AA) has been the key to my success in gaining employment in the airlines. AA provided an easy transition from the learning environment to full time employment within the aviation sector.
I graduated from AA with several offers of employment and started my career with Jetstar Airways. I then joined, as one of the first cabin crew teams, with V Australia as a long haul flight attendant. This eventually became Virgin Australia.
I met the love of my life in the airlines and I have faced many battles along the way, including my wife being diagnosed with an illness which ultimately led to my wings being ‘clipped’ so to speak as I could no longer fly.
However, because of AA, I landed a job with the Federal Government’s Department of Immigration and Border Protection, serving on the front line as a General Duties Border Force Officer. 11,000 applied for this new role and 140 were successful. It’s an amazing feeling going from the classroom at AA, to flying around the world, to enforcing the law at the international airport!
Sam Cummins

I was never 100% sure what my career choice was going to be until I gained interest in the aviation industry. I was very nervous to just jump in and start looking for jobs, until I found Aviation Australia.
I am so pleased that I chose to attend the seven weeks training with Aviation Australia because it helped me test the waters of what the aviation industry is about, and I loved it.
Throughout my time at Aviation Australia, my instructors taught me a lot more than just how to be a flight attendant; they taught me what it means to be one and how the whole industry works and so much more. I came out of the course with so much more confidence and more skills than I thought I ever would.
I’ve made life long friends and have been taught extremely valuable life skills as well as top of the class training. I’ll never forget my time at Aviation Australia – it was one of the most informative, fun and valuable seven weeks of my life.
Liam Curran

From a very young age, I could only dream to be up in the air working and living the life of cabin crew. After attending a Flight Attendant Career Session at Aviation Australia in 2014, I knew within seconds that I wanted to enrol.
I can comfortably say that I am a proud graduate from the Flight Attendant course and I will never forget my experience at Aviation Australia. To be doing something that I love is one thing, but to be provided with extensive hands on practical training that is industry current, theoretical knowledge that is thorough, yet anticipating, to be able to study and learn with some amazing students from all around the world, and to be trained by experienced, professional, amazing instructors is another. This is what made my time at Aviation Australia a personal one.
The confidence, expectations and knowledge gained from the course has definitely set me up to commence my dream career as a flight attendant and I would undoubtedly recommend the course to anyone who has a passion for cabin crew but need a kick start to get them there. I can’t thank Aviation Australia enough for what they did for me and I will always wear my graduation wings with pride.
Danielle Gordon

I started with Aviation Australia in January 2015 to commence my journey of becoming a flight attendant. Ever since I was a little girl, I had dreamt of working at 35,000ft and to have finally achieved my goal is the most satisfying feeling.
Without the help of Aviation Australia, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I went into the course open minded, wanting to learn all about the aviation industry. The course went into great detail about the cabin crew position, such as the roles and responsibilities, emergency procedures and aviation medicine.
Doing this course has helped me greatly with my current airline position, right from the recruitment process up until graduating from ground school. The skills and knowledge that I learnt from my time at Aviation Australia gave me the confidence I needed to take that first step into becoming a flight attendant for Australia’s national flag carrier.
The assistance and support I have received from the team at Aviation Australia has been fantastic. I have developed a great relationship with them and made some life long friends.
Avea Malaesilia

I graduated from the first Melbourne based flight attendant course in February 2015, after commencing the course in January.
By March, I was already attending assessment days and ground staff interviews with different airlines. At the end of March, I was successful in obtaining a position with Jetstar, commenced ground school in June and have commenced my career as cabin crew.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to learn from an instructor with years of experience in the aviation industry.
I absorbed all her experiences , advice and guidance and made use of it during my time in ground school and preparing for assessment days.
If you’re passionate about becoming cabin crew, Aviation Australia will give you the confidence to succeed and believe in yourself.
Chelsea Ryals
Aviation Australia is a great way to prepare yourself for the aviation industry as a whole. The industry is very competitive, so doing this course can give you a higher chance of employment over others who haven’t done a course. It helps you once you are in training with a company, you aren’t as stressed and know exactly what to expect!
After completing the full time flight attendant course I was successful through both Jetstar and Virgin recruitment programs, but went on to work for Jetstar as it suited my situation at the time. I am now 22 and have been working for Emirates Airline for over a year. I’ve been to over 30 countries and love working in such a spontaneous and diverse industry.
I made life long friends and had so much fun doing this course with Aviation Australia and wish the same success for anyone else who does it!
Adrienne Lilo

I graduated from Aviation Australia in late December 2014, class of CC75A. After graduating, I took a holiday to Fiji for one month. Yes, I had to relax after all the exams and intense studies I did for seven weeks!
After returning from my holiday I started to apply online for cabin crew positions with various airlines. After three months, I received the great news from Emirates that I was successful in obtaining a cabin crew position with them and now live in Dubai.
I would highly recommend Aviation Australia to anyone whose dream career is being a flight attendant. They will train, prepare and equip you with excellence in every area; not only theory but practical and real life situations. Aviation Australia will help and support you even after you graduate, which really encouraged me through the process of applying to airlines.
If you want to make your dreams a reality, you have to be willing to put in the hard work and never give up. May Aviation Australia assist you with fulfilling your dreams!
Helen Harrington
I highly recommend Aviation Australia. I graduated the course in Brisbane and gained all of the knowledge and confidence I needed to pursue a career in the aviation field. The course equipped me with the appropriate skills for undertaking ground school, providing me with knowledge of the aircraft and teaching me the expectations of a flight attendant. Their teaching style was flawless and perfectly delivered. Aviation Australia made my transition from one career to another actually achievable.
