Aviation Australia’s Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) is designed to provide you with all technical and non-technical skills you will need to achieve your Commercial Pilots Licence with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
Working with Mission Aviation Fellowship’s team of experienced instructors – you will gain your CPL with instructors who have extensive flying experience and aviation industry knowledge to provide the most relevant and up-to-date instruction.
The training focuses on theoretical components such as radio communications, risk management strategies and procedures, flight planning, aviation law – along with practical experience with briefing and flight training, which includes aeroplane take-off, landing, fuel management, situational awareness and abnormal flight situations.
This course can be paired with the Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating).

Recognition of Prior Learning
Aviation Australia offers an opportunity for recognition of prior learning (RPL) to be assessed. RPL may include holders of a CASA Recreational Pilots Licence, CASA Private Pilots Licence and/or a foreign pilots licence or those that have previous studies, qualifications and experience.

General training hours* are between 7.30am to 4.30pm, however these times may vary based on available flying hours and briefing hours.

The course duration is approximately 50 weeks (with a minimum 20 hour per week face to face study commitment).
There are theory/self-study training components contained in this course. Students require access to a computer with a reliable internet connection. Students must be dedicated and committed to achieving the qualification by completing self-study for a minimum of 5 hours per week (in addition to face to face training). If a student fails to meet each study period requirements, they may be unable to progress to the next study period.
