Aviation Australia student officially appointed as 2018 Brisbane International Student Ambassador
Mahirah Azman, international student at Aviation Australia has been formally appointed a 2018 Brisbane International Student Ambassador for Study Brisbane.
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk officially appointed each of the ambassadors at an Appointment Ceremony in Brisbane City Hall, held on the 19 April.
40 students from around the world are formally appointed each year, with the intention of sharing their Brisbane stories to their home country networks. The 2018 ambassadors are representing 30 countries and 21 Brisbane institutions.
Over 350 applicants applied to be an ambassador for 2018, with Mahirah being recognised as an outstanding applicant.
Originating from Malaysia, Mahirah is currently studying a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, specialising in Mechanical studies at Aviation Australia. She has been in Brisbane for six months and has loved the experience so far.
“Everyone here has been so accepting and friendly, not to mention helpful. Brisbane is an awesome place to study and live in,” said Mahirah.
The Ambassadors program is one of the longest running Study Brisbane initiatives, catering for over 85,000 international students that study in Brisbane.
