Aviation Australia student awarded 2017 RAAA scholarship

Aviation Australia alumni, Julian La Praik has been awarded the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) Hawker Pacific Avionics Scholarship for 2017.

La Praik was recognised as a promising Aircraft Maintenance Engineer who has demonstrated commitment to the aviation industry.

Funded by Hawker Pacific Pty Ltd, the $5000 prize was awarded to La Praik to fund his attendance to the 2018 Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) International Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas, USA.

Held in March 2018, the trade show provides a unique opportunity for aviation professionals to connect with manufacturers, distributors, technicians and business leaders.

La Praik was a student at Aviation Australia for just over 12 months, graduating in 2014 with a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics). La Praik first heard about the scholarship through Aviation Australia’s employment services department.

“Thank you very much for urging me to apply as I would never have known about the opportunity otherwise,” said Julian La Praik.

The 2017 winners were presented with their scholarships at the RAAA national convention, held at RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast.
