Advanced Diploma of Aviation (Pilot in Command) AVI60219

pilot training

If you hold a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and hold (or have held) a Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR) and wish to take the next step up in your career, then this course is for you!

The Advanced Diploma of Aviation (PIC) reflects the roles of multi-crew operations and air transport pilots, operating within Australian domestic and international environments.

This course is designed to equip students with the competencies and qualifications to operate as a pilot in a multi – crew environment.

Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) theory is covered in depth, as well as the important areas of risk management and aviation security.

Students are taught the practical application of this learning while operating in both pilot flying and pilot monitoring roles on simulated airline revenue flights. The training maintains a strong focus on experiential learning in the application of Human Factors.

This qualification covers all Civil Aviation Safety Authority pre-requisites prior to the ATPL Flight Test.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will graduate with:

  • Advanced Diploma of Aviation (Pilot in Command) AVI60219
  • CASA approved Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) certification

The theory training components are completed via online and distance learning. Students require access to a computer with a reliable internet connection. Students must be dedicated and committed to achieving the qualification by completing self-study for a minimum of 15 hours per week. If a student fails to meet each study period requirements, they are unable to progress to the next study period.

The practical training component can only be completed after all theory components are successfully completed. Practical training is completed on site at our Brisbane Campus, which requires 7 days face to face training in the Multi-Crew Cooperation course (specific course dates apply for this component). This component requires the completion of pre-course study and full time attendance (up to 7 hours per day over 7 consecutive days).

An accelerated training option (duration 6 months) is available – this option is only suitable for those not currently working full time – as a minimum 30-35 hour per week study commitment is required. Please contact us to discuss this option as this is not our standard offering.
