Instructor Role Requirements

If you would like the opportunity to pass on your knowledge and passion for Aviation to our students, please see the key requirements below for our Instructing positions:

Technical Instructor (Mechanical, Avionics or Structures)
Essential

  • A Certificate IV in Aeroskills, or the ability to obtain the competencies associated with the Certificate IV.
  • An English proficiency of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent qualification as a minimum is required when the applicant’s country of origin does not have English as the first language.

Desirable

  • A Diploma of Aeroskills, or the ability to obtain the competencies associated with the Diploma.
  • A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a higher recognised qualification in teaching/training
  • Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) licence.

 

Technical Assessment Specialist
Essential

  • A recognised trade Certificate as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in a relevant stream.

Desirable

  • A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a higher recognised qualification in teaching/training
  • Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) licence

 

Cabin Crew Instructor
Essential

  • A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a higher recognised qualification in teaching/training
  • 3 years in Cabin Crew role
  • Experience in delivering training

Desirable

  • First Aid Certificate
  • RSA

 

RPAS Instructor
Essential

  • A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a higher recognised qualification in teaching/training
  • RePL
  • A CASA Remote Pilot or Commercial Pilot Licence
  • An English proficiency of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent qualification as a minimum is required when the applicant’s country of origin does not have English as the first language

Desirable

  • CERT III in Aviation (Remote Pilot)
  • 2 years industry experience
  • Part 61 Flight instructor rating
  • ELP assessor approval

 

Flight Instructor
Essential

  • A current CASA Commercial Pilot Licence or Airline Transport Pilot Licence
  • A current CASA Part 61 Flight Instructor Rating Grade 3 or above
  • Class 1 Medical

Desirable

  • Diploma of Aviation – Flight Instructor
  • Cert IV TAE (TAE40116)
  • Instrument Rating (Current or non-Current)

We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an RPAS Standards SME and Instructor on a permanent, full-time basis.  Reporting to the RPAS People and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for instructing, developing courseware, course procedures and delivery standards for the compliant delivery of our RPAS courses and associated courses.  You will require a deep understanding of aviation regulations and be driven to promote a culture of compliance and excellence. We are currently looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an RPAS Instructor on a permanent, full-time basis.  Reporting to the RPAS People and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the competent delivery, assessment and development of knowledge and skills training within the scope of Aviation Australia’s approval as a registered training organisation. This role will also be responsible for the delivery of AVI30419 Certificate III in Aviation Training to secondary school students and have a specific SME focus nominated by the RPAS People and Operations Manager.  The successful candidate will be required to travel domestically on occasions and more during peak assessment periods (September – November).
