"I moved from a country town near Rockhampton to Brisbane to fulfill my career as a flight attendant with Aviation Australia. My time with AA was challenging and exciting. The 10 week course really gave me an insight to the world of aviation and what I was expected to do as a cabin crew member every day. The instructors are amazing and their stories and knowledge are inspiring to us all. From interview techniques and mock interviews to practical assessments and aviation technical skills, AA gave me the confidence to perform at my best and get me ready for my future. I have made friends for life and the experiences we share will carry with me throughout my aviation career. I have been through several interviews, job offers and now I have moved to Sydney and have started my flying career with Virgin Blue. Everything that Virgin Blue had thrown at us, I was able to use my knowledge from my training and implement that into my studies and success with VB. I encourage all of you who want to peruse a career as a flight attendant, take the challenge and amaze yourself with the Aviation Australia family. It will be a ‘best time of your life’ experience and you will achieve your dream job in no time!" - From Amy
Grace Tweddell Cert II in Aviation
"I attended aviation australia in November 2009 and had the best 10 weeks of my life. I had just turned 18 and was very exited to begin my career, this course definitely gave me the best insight into what I was getting myself into! I have no doubt that without this course, fantastic instructors and the life long friends, I would have struggled to make it into the aviation industry. After finishing the course I was offered various airline jobs, at the time I decided to take Jetstar Domestic which was a lot of fun, a very fun base to work out of! Since then I have been offered a job with Qantas International Flying on the A380's at the London Heathrow Base , which is home for me so I'm very exited to be here and living the dream! I can't explain how much of a rewarding career this is and I'm only 19. I wouldn't be in my current position without the edge that Aviation Australia gave me." - From Grace
Charles White Cert II in Aviation
"Aviation Australia’s 10 week Cabin Crew course gave me the confidence, the theoretical knowledge and the necessary hands on skills required to allow me to fulfill my dream of becoming Cabin Crew. The course itself gave me the best insight to what life is like as a Cabin Crew member. This was achieved by AA’s outstanding instructors, their extensive knowledge, years of experience, unlimited support and resources, which gave me that extra self assurance to achieve to the best of my ability. The two things I enjoyed most about my time at AA were the many new friends I made and being able to use such outstanding training facilities, such as the cabin simulators, fire training cabin, and the slide descent concourse. Since graduating from AA I have successfully gained employment with Cobham Aviation Services Australia in Perth. I am having the time of my life, having met many new friends along the way. I am enjoying it as I have achieved my goal of becoming Cabin Crew. I strongly encourage anyone wanting a Cabin Crew career to complete the course. It is well worth it and it gives you the solid foundations to begin a new and exciting career in the Aviation Industry." - From Charles

“Aviation Australia’s 10 week course allowed me to fulfil my dream of becoming a flight attendant. I moved from Adelaide to Brisbane to complete the 10 week course which gave me the knowledge and confidence that I needed to have to become a flight attendant. After a year of working customer service in Brisbane I was offered a job with Cobham regional services and now living in Perth. I have been with them since May this year 2010 and loving it. There is a lot of red dirt and miners but the crew I fly with are great.” - From Clair

"My name is Patrick and I completed the Aviation Australia course in June 2008. Completing the course really helped me kick start my Aviation career. This course gave me the confidence in achieving my goal of becoming a flight attendant. A month of finishing the course I was accepted as a Flight Attendant with a major airline, Emirates. I spent the best part of 2 years living in Dubai and travelling the world. For the last 12 months of my Cabin Crew career I flew on the A380 to destinations including Toronto, New York, London and many more After leaving Dubai and returning to Brisbane I am now studying to become a Commercial Pilot. Aviation Australia was the starting point of what I hope to be a very successful career in the Aviation Industry." - From Patrick
Hayden Pinsker Cert IV in Aeroskills
Hayden Pinsker is on the path to a high-flying career after winning a sought-after trade scholarship. Hayden, 17, of Murarrie, scored a $4300 Aeroskills Scholarship in the Aerospace Education Awards. One of three scholarships sponsored by Australian Aerospace, GE Aviation and Boeing Defence Australia, it will buy him a year’s formal training towards a Certificate IV in Aeroskills. Conducted at Aviation Australia’s headquarters beside the Brisbane Airport runway at Eagle Farm, the training, due to start on January 31, will set Hayden on a course to become an apprentice aircraft maintenance engineer.
Hayden completed year 12 at Balmoral State High School and said the trade would allow him to work in various roles in the industry, though he wanted to specialise in avionics maintenance. ‘‘I always liked planes and I always wanted to know how they ticked,’’ he said. He also won a $500 voucher to buy tools for the trade.
