This course will equip you with the comprehensive knowledge, skills, values and experience that international and domestic airlines seek when recruiting suitable candidates.
Entry Requirements
General
- Must be at least 18 years old for Australian airlines and 20-21 years old for most international airlines
- Must be fit and healthy
- Must meet the height restrictions as specified by the various airlines – please enquire direct to the airlines to determine if they apply to you
- A second language is a distinct advantage
Educational
- Recognised educational qualifications equivalent to Australian Year 12
English Language
- Proficiency in English as determined by the International English Language Testing Services (IELTS)
- Minimum standard required by Aviation Australia for the Certificate II in Aviation (Flight Operations) is an IELTS result with an overall band score of 5.5 and no sub band below 5.0
- For students from most countries a lower band score will be considered if the applicant can prove an equivalent level through completion of an Aviation Australia approved ELICOS course

Visa Requirements
- International applicants wishing to enrol in this program with Aviation Australia will require a tourist visa; in a small number of cases a student visa may be applicable. You will need to investigate the visa requirements with your local Australian Diplomatic Mission

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
- The granting of a visa to study in Australia is dependant on the applicant obtaining OSHC

Course Duration
This is a full time course consisting of 6.5 weeks of structured theory and practical tuition.

- Classroom based theory
- Online study and examinations
- Practical hands on training using cabin simulators, mock-ups, door trainers and survival rafts in an authentic simulated environment
Course Outcome
Upon completion, students will receive a Certificate II in Aviation (Flight Operations) (AVI20208) plus the following additional certificates:
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
- Senior First Aid
- Aircrew Security Response Program
